This map features an 1878 map of the City of Halifax. This map pre-dates the disastrous Halifax Explosion of 1917 which took place in the Narrows and devastated the Richmond District of the city. Many wharves can be seen lining the bustling harbour and Point Pleasant Park, the Citadel and the Public Gardens are clearly marked.
